I created this blog because my Spirit has let me know, in no uncertain terms, that it’s time for me to start Talking My Walk.

The more common admonition to Walk Your Talk has never been difficult for me. My actions nearly always match my words. If anything, I take my integrity to an extreme.

I’ve had the opposite problem. For as long as I can remember, I’ve shied away from sharing my knowledge and experience with anyone other than my teachers, close friends, and one-on-one coaching clients. I’ve had an unshakable fear that if I were to go public with my ideas and teachings, I’d be killed by a crazy stalker or zealot.

I could tell you about the traumatic experiences that helped form and feed this fear, but I don’t see how sharing this would be helpful. Besides, my Spirit has let me know, in no uncertain terms, that it is far more likely that I’ll suffer a premature death if I don’t start talking my walk — and soon.

How has my Spirit let me know? By calling my attention to this quote over and over again:

If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.

You’d think that seeing this warning repeatedly would have been enough to spur me into action, but it wasn’t. I also needed to be kicked in the butt by a dramatic health scare to impress me with just how vulnerable and fleeting my life is.

We are all meant to bring forth — and share — what is within us. I am no exception. That’s why I’ve created this simple blog: to support myself to get into the practice of Talking My Walk.
